For your youth
This artwork compiles stories of individuals who have overcome prevalent age discrimination in society and have pioneered their own paths in life. Using the word "youth" redefined as a means to defy age discrimination, the artwork delivers a message that regardless of age, we can all become "youthful." It features stories of people living against age discrimination, such as Kim Chil-doo, who became a fashion model at 67, Andrews, who decided to cross continents at 96, and Han, who completed high school studies at 70. These narratives challenge societal stereotypes that age is merely a number. Through hand-drawn illustrations, the artwork adheres to an analog format that appeals to all generations, symbolizing harmony across generations. The artist hopes this piece will prompt a shift in societal perspectives on age discrimination and advocates for embracing positive ageing through the message "We are all youthful." The title "youderly," a blend of "youth" and "elderly," signifies the integration of all generations from youth to elderly into one cohesive entity.
